FB interesting: British (propaganda) against Slavs and Bulgarians in their struggle for freedom and national liberation
My comment:
Actually, historically, the point of existence of each rule was seen as expansion, conquering, more power and wealth ... If the ordinary people were lucky enough, it would defend and protect them... It happened from time to time and for a short while...
Well, I would rather approach it in a people-centred and even person-centred way, instead of the authority/rule-centred one.
What do people want from their state?
1) Protection against any aggressor;
2) As less s possible interference with their lives, incl. everyday ones...
Have I missed anything? So it wasn't just Russia; every country has been like that most of the time... There might have been some exception such as Sweden, at least for the last century and some..
So the Russian empire had a positive side too; many countries in Eastern Europe and particularly on the Balkans wouldn't probably exist without the Russian wars. Oh course, I'm speculating, but let's see what happens with Kurds in Turkey...
Otherwise, I would rather accept the current situation as it is, I.e. the existing nations, borders, etc. And look ahead.

I only meant the Serbian liberation from Turkish yoke , where Russian contribution was crucial according to the source I referred to for example. Can you refer to you source/s showing that Serbs did it all alone? Nobody to feel grateful to, even a little?
About how Serbia liberated the Bulgarians if thebl geographic area called Macedonia, who were forcefully made Macedonians i.e. true descendents of ancient Macedonians, etc... It's clear that a Bulgarian point of view can't but differ here.
I wish, both Macedonia and Serbia would be able to get rid of the things made them fake the Balkan history and use it against their neighbours. I am sure, it does more harm to you both than to Bulgarians. .. It's because I believe in supernatural things like God and Good, you know.
Good luck.
